We will carefully check your child’s teeth and soft tissues and general oral health, looking for signs of damage or early decay that we may need to monitor or treat in the future.
We will also examine how your child bites their teeth together, especially when permanent teeth are present. This allows us to spot early signs of underbites, cross bites or overbites developing, and we can refer for orthodontic treatment at the right time. As with most things, the sooner you can start to treat it, the quicker it can be resolved.
We provide Fluoride applications which are a safe and effective way to safeguard your growing child’s teeth from developing decay. The fluoride is painted onto the surface of the child’s teeth and this helps to mineralise the teeth. We provide Fissure sealants which are tooth coloured and applied to biting surfaces of children’s teeth to prevent decay.
We will give toothbrushing advice and diet advice about types of foods we recommend, sugar intake and how to adopt healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
